Is the Cricut Worth It?

By now, you have probably seen the Cricut machines at your local craft stores. They have become very popular in the crafting world, but there are still a lot of questions surrounding them. After all, they are a bit expensive. So, is the Cricut worth it?
I have been a crafter my whole life. Knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, sewing, and beading are all things I have tried and loved. Recently a very good friend introduced me to paper crafting. I go over to her house for stamping parties and we would make cards, boxes, and all sorts of papercrafts. After a few times, I was hooked!
Cricut Explore Air 2
It opened a whole new world of crafting that I had never experienced. I had been thinking about purchasing some of the paper crafting and stamping products that were offered, but could not decide which would be the best. It seemed there was a different tool for everything. All I wanted was one tool that I could use for EVERYTHING. Now enter, the Cricut… my new best friend. I had seen them in the crafting stores such as Joann and Michaels, but never really looked at them to see what they were. Well after doing a ton of research, I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Cricut Air 2. And let me tell you, my crafting life will never be the same! This one machine does it all.
Is the cricut worth it?
Now, many people have already asked me…. is the Cricut really worth it? At first, I had to think about it. Yes, I know I love my Cricut machine and I know it does everything I need it to. But how can I tell someone else if it would be worth the money?
Honestly, it is a very personal decision. There are a few different Cricut options. There is the Cricut Explore family and then the Cricut Maker. Yes, they are all pricy, especially if you are looking at purchasing the most recent member of the Cricut family, the Cricut Maker.
Before making the decision, it is important to think about what you would use it for. Ask yourself, how often do I currently work on crafting? What would I use it for? How would it help me with crafting? Asking yourself these questions will help you to decide whether or not you want to take the plunge.
I took more than six months to finally decide to give it a try. I am a Kindergarten teacher who makes the majority of the things I use to decorate my classroom. After thinking about it, just made sense. The Cricut is an amazing crafting tool and if it is something that you think you would use, I would highly recommend making the investment!
