Five Stars! I would highly recommend this novel to anyone who is a fan of historical fiction. A lot of the book is based on real people and real events. Quinn takes you on an emotional roller coaster – making you laugh and making you cry. It is an epic journey full of courage and sacrifice. The Alice Network is a heavy read and I do want to put out a content warning. (violence/torture/sexual situations)
Summary
Following WWII, two unlikely women are brought together in a fascinating tale of courage and redemption. The novel follows two storylines in two different time periods. Eve is a female spy recruited to France to work in The Alice Network in 1915 during WWI. Charlie is an American Socialite who is desperately searching for her lost cousin following WWII in the year 1947. These two women could not be more different but learn that their paths have crossed for a reason and they are connected in ways that they never imagined. They will have to put their differences aside and work together in order to discover the truth, no matter where it leads.
